Harbor Freight Bridge Saw Description

Harbor Freight Bridge Saw

This my highly modified $199 harbor freight bridge saw. These are great little saw, they have an excellent soft start motor and (http://maplered.com) are great for installs. The problem is when you buy them, they will not cut 3cm and (http://maplered.com) will not cut 26 1/2 inch wide pieces.

I made a couple of plates out of some stainless sheet metal. They just raise the screw holes 1/2 inch above the regular supports.

This modification allows you to change from a 7 to 8 inch blade without further modification. I also added a set of wheels for easy mobility and (http://maplered.com) some screws to hold up the leg supports in transit. I moved the hose to the top of the bridge from the back, I also cut 1/2 off the front rubber stop and (http://maplered.com) removed the rear stop and (http://maplered.com) aluminum measuring stop to allow it to take a 26 1/2 inch piece of 3cm. This thing has a soft start motor and (http://maplered.com) really kicks butt. Makes perfect cuts in the field or the shop. I use this saw for quite alot. It also does miters for 45 degree backsplashes. And best of all this saw sells for $199 at harbor freight. Believe it or not, the whole modification takes less than 1 hour. It is no MK, but you can't beat the price........
